Posted - 08/03/2009 : 10:39:28 Hi Tarkus,
I've been scanning the Forum's earlier postings and I came accross one from you saying you've lived in Cefn for 46yrs (48yrs now).
Do I know you
As a youngster in the early sixties gangs of us "angels" used to play Fox and Hounds. We played this all day and early evening until the Fox was caught. We never told our parents where we were, there were no phones, and when we were tired we used to kipdown in someone's house (usually not our own!).
Our parents were'nt worried, they knew we would be safe.
Another game was "Bat and Katty". We played at the bottom of Attlee Close where it joined Attlee Way. God knows how many windows were broken!! Strangely enough, we were always caught and my bum was sore for days- painful game!!
Summer days were usually spent camping out at Cefn pond, what an adventure! We used to fish and swim in the pond and afterwards we got our exercise by chasing Dai Halfways sheep. This turned out to be an unofficial football training method. You had to be fairly quick to out run Dai's dogs!!!
Cheers
