| As an interested observer of all things Blaenau Gwent how is it we never see any county councillors participating on this website? Over in Abertillery one of their councillors is always taking on Eddie Legge.The Tredegar councillors seem rather quiet in comparison and reluctant to argue their point of view. Overall the councillors in general across the borough seem not to want to talk directly to their constituents. Either they're too elderly to handle the internet- (some have been councillors for over 30 years) or - if they are web savvy - they'd have to explain the wind turbine !! (Much easier to blame the WAG Planning Inspectorate). |

grhysmorgan the answer to your question is----------------------- we used to have one councillor on here but he sadly no longer takes an interactive position as when he was he was given a real hard time by many of the forum members including myself. I am aware that he still reads the forum regularly, It would not be fair to name him at this time but I do thank him for taking some interest, seems he may just may be the only one.
Sadly most of the local problems still have not been dealt with like (and I know the police are liable for a lot if the problems but could be forced more to take action if the councillors pushed them) litter, ASB (the police say there has been a marked decrease in this, sorry its just that there's little point in reporting it any more ) off road bike yellow line parking and even grass verges being turned to mud and dust.
It would be good for us the people to have them on here after all we pay there wages, so they should stand up and be counted for what they are not doing and maybe praised when they do something worth while.

Maybe they will get their act together soon, or maybe not ?
So far, the winner of the negative campaign goes to the labour party with the Sirhowy leaflet.
All they do is attack. I switch off whenever any political punter does that regardless of who it is.
Can somebody please remind me, was everything 100% fine pip and dandy in the 60 years before the last local election when labour were in power in the Tredegar area ?

| Ive had a leaflet this morning from the labour candidates. It has some strong accusations about a certain person well known in the Georgetown area. I'm sure Kay would find it interesting reading. |

We had our leaflet in the post this morning and to be honest its just more of the same old same old. Can I really bring myself to even turn out and vote? do they put them self out to knock on our door? do any of the problems that are meant to be sought ever get sought? Even simple things seem to be ignored, things that are costing the council and spoiling the area and cost pennies to stop don't get dealt with then what hope is there for important things?
Can I see any of them doing what they set out they will do? sadly I cannot.
The older you get the more you see and the more disillusioned.

| I think it is sad when Labour candidates turn up at the door with the only intention of calling their opponents names and making barbed comments. If they spent as much time and effort asking what we residents want, they would get my vote. |

Well,well,well, I go away for a nice weekend [had a lovely time]and i come back and all hell has broken loose! Hi Fizz,how are you doing?
Well what can i say? Only the TRUTH i guess and in doing so i will quote a few words from the councillor himself, so here goes [sorry for the capitals but i need to make myself 100% clear]
I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT I NOW HAVE TO DEFEND MYSELF FROM WHAT CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS BLATENT LIES AIMED AT DISCREDITING ME. ESPECIALLY AS THIS PERSON, MR JASON OWEN, KNOW'S FULL WELL THAT UP UNTIL THE PROBLEMS WITH WOODFIELD ROAD,HE HAD MY FULL,100% SUPPORT FROM THE VERY FIRST DAY THAT HE ANNOUNCED THAT HE WAS STANDING AS A COUNCILLOR IN OUR AREA. EVERY ELECTION,HIS NAME WAS THE FIRST NAME THAT I PUT AN X NEXT TOO,I DID NOT NEED TO BE ASKED TWICE,I DID IT BECAUSE I HONESTLY THOUGHT THEN THAT HE WAS THE BEST CANDITATE TO LOOK AFTER US ALL DOWN HERE AND TO DO WHAT'S BEST FOR US AND TO FIGHT FOR US AND FOR WHAT WE WANTED, BUT PEOPLE CHANGE AND IN DOING SO THEY FORGET THAT THEY ARE THERE TO REPRESENT THE VOTERS WISHES REGARDLESS OF PERSONAL FEELINGS [RIGHTLY OR WRONGLY]AND THIS IS THE NUMBER ONE RULE IN MY BOOK THAT WAS BROKEN.HIS FEELINGS CAME FIRST AND NOT THE VOTING PUBLIC,WE WERE TOTALLY DISREGARDED.There are other points i could make on Woodfield but that's old ground especially all this balloney about if it didn't go here it would have been lost.All he had to do was to take a stand a say NO BUILD IT ON ONE OF THE TWO ORIGINAL SITES IN EBBW AND JOB DONE,IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BUILT ANYWAY!!!
Anyway,let me just say now [as i have done on here many,many times before if anyone want's to read back]THAT I AM NOT A FULLY PAID UP MEMBER OF THE LABOUR PARTY OR EVEN A LABOUR SUPPORTER-----NEVER HAVE BEEN AND NEVER WILL BE, I ONLY CAST MY VOTE FOR THE PERSON WHO I THINK WILL DO THE BEST JOB OF REPRESENTING ME AND THE COMMUNITY,REGARDLESS OF THE PARTY THEY STAND FOR-----AND MR JASON OWEN KNOW'S THIS AND HAS ALWAYS KNOWN THIS, FULL WELL,SO WHY HE IS LYING [BIG TIME] THROUGH HIS TEETH, I DON'T KNOW BUT IF HE IS LYING ABOUT THIS THEN WHAT ELSE IS HE NOT TELLING THE TRUTH IN?
