Morning cupcake seems we have all just had enough of the odd one or two that pick on them that interact on here (who could do the same) as we are now somewhat reluctant to post as we once did, not wishing to be again accused of being a hogger.
Please please lets just pass over Xmas its not going to be a time to remember for us. plus the fact I hate it, it being a time for the greedy rich to com the poor into buying stuff they didn't want the rest of the year and the people that come out of the wood work and have the time of day for you the rest of the year round.
Just this morning had an email from the kennel club.
--------------------------------
Do you know of Wales' most dog friendly business? Vote now in the Open for Dogs Awards 2012
The Kennel Club is on the hunt for Wales' most dog friendly businesses in the Open for Dogs Awards 2012, and you only have a couple of weeks left to nominate your favourite!
Presented at Discover Dogs at London’s Earls Court 1 in November, the Awards look to honour those businesses that are offering innovative services to attract dog owners into their premises. So, if you know of a business that pulls out all the stops for their canine clientele, simply visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/openfordogs2012 to put them forward for a prize in the Open for Dogs Awards 2012 in one of the following categories: Somewhere to Stay Somewhere to Eat Somewhere to Drink Somewhere to Visit Somewhere to Camp Somewhere on the High Street; And a new category this year for Dog Friendly Towns. There is also an Other category for businesses that do not fit into the categories above By nominating a business, you will automatically be entered into our free prize draw to win one of ten pairs of tickets to Discover Dogs at London’s Earls Court in November, or Crufts at Birmingham’s NEC in March.
The competition closes on 31st August 2012, with the winners announced shortly after, so nominate now to make your vote count!
If you use social media, why not Tweet or post on Facebook about your nomination, with the link www.openfordogs.org.uk, and encourage others to vote for them?
Thank you for supporting your local dog friendly businesses!
The Open for Dogs Team
Terms and Conditions The winner in each category will be determined by the number of recommendations received by the Kennel Club by 31st August 2012. A prize of Special Recognition will also be awarded to a business that the Kennel Club identifies as pulling out all the stops for its canine customers.
All winners will be notified and asked to confirm acceptance of the award.
Nominators can nominate in as many categories as they choose, but cannot nominate the same venue more than once. The Kennel Club reserves the right to refuse a recommendation if it is deemed inappropriate or offensive.
The competition is part of the Kennel Club’s Open for Dogs campaign, which aims to break down barriers for dogs and dog owners.
-------------------------------------------
See my above comment about the festival site.
we are so dog friendly NOT.
Why do people ask for help and when its offered nothing comes of it even a thank you but no thank you? I give up, is it any wonder i'm becoming more of a recluse by the hour.

Just to make your day,and ours
-----------------------------
SSE to raise gas and electricity prices
Energy firm SSE will increase its domestic gas and electricity prices by an average of 9% from 15 October.
It blamed the increases on the extra cost of using the gas and electricity networks and rising costs in energy wholesale markets.
SSE, which also trades as Scottish Hydro and Swalec, said five million electricity customers and 3.4 million gas customers would be affected.
However, there will be no more price rises before the second half of 2013.
The forthcoming increases mean that a customer with an average standard dual-fuel bill will pay an extra £102 for the year, or £1,274 in total.
The company's chief executive Ian Marchant, said the forthcoming increases were regrettable but unavoidable.
"We pledged last summer to cap our energy prices for as long as possible and until at least August 2012, and then in January extended this pledge to October 2012," he said.
"Unfortunately, the increases in costs that we have seen since making this pledge can no longer be absorbed and mean that we are unable to keep prices at their current levels beyond this autumn," he added.
In May, the company reported a 2% rise in annual pre-tax profits to £1.33bn, though profits in its division which supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses fell 20% to £321.6m.
Energy market 'broken' In 2011, all the big-six energy suppliers raised their prices, in some cases twice.
But earlier this year they all staged a round of small price cuts, affecting either their gas or their electricity customers.
SSE cut its gas prices by 4.5% in March this year.
However, in May, Centrica - which owns British Gas - warned that continued increases in the wholesale price of gas might lead to renewed domestic price rises this autumn.
Richard Lloyd, of the consumers' association Which?, said: "We can't go through another winter with people worrying about their energy bills, the government and the regulator must reform our broken energy market."
Martin Lewis, of the consumer website MoneySavingExpert.com, said many people could save money by switching to one of the fixed-rate deals currently on offer.
"Two major energy companies are currently offering cheap fix deals at the same price as the cheapest variable deals, cutting many people's bills by hundreds of pounds and guaranteeing no price rises for up to two winters," he said.
"More surprisingly, those tariffs do not involve exit penalty lock-ins, so you can leave whenever you want."
--------------------------------
NO light at the end of our tunnel.
These companies are really taking the **** out of us and still we pay, along with the price of petrol but its so good to know that we are all in this together yea right. Just Waite for the next round of government cuts to a place near you (and us) very soon.

Thank you cupcake were fine thanks.
Sorry your not having such a good time at the moment but if you need any help you know where we are.
Must admit I have got rather sick of the what seems to be mindless attitude of some on here and it no longer has the attraction it once had and its no wonder Tredegar is going down the pan with the I just close my curtains and the problems go away people. I'm sure they really dont give a fig about what goes on as long as its affecting them in any way. The NIMBYs are alive and well.
Best wishes to one and all hope your well kay and fizz keep up the good work fredd.

Well what a wonderful weekend its been thus far (I guess some may say/think it couldn't have happened to a nicer family that makes them no better than the mindless brainless fools that did the damage).
Firstly some grown men well old enough to know better but obviously with very little brain power thought they could get a large wide and high vehicle down a small lane and very kindly ripped our trees to shreds.
secondly last evening some half Witt kids decided it was a wonderful idea to use our windows as a target for stone throwing. Still waiting for the police to arrive to deal with the problem
Is it any wonder some think I'm an bad tempered foul mouthed old git.
Thank goodness its pouring with rain might keep some of these delightful kids in.
Let me now warn any future vandals trouble makers my CCTV is now (and will be from now on) running and recording 24/7 and action will be taken.
Tredegar a wonderful place to live its just the few numskulls that live hear that **** it up.

Well still NO police visit
BUT
here is the answer to future problems.
A rubber face mask of David Cameron, deal with the little scum and then if there is any comeback tell them your covered by Cameron's BIG SOCIETY your just looking after your society.
What make me think I wouldn't get away with it.
Asda prices still going up and with the lousy summer we have had the cost of some (probably most) is going to become very expensive even bread and chease will become a luxury.
Any people must go things to do places to go people to see ---------- not.

Morning cupcake Police NO not a snosage they just don't want to know (as per norm).
New week and you can bet it will be the S.O.S. kids back to school (thank goodness) government back with more hard times for us. An extra trip to Asda tomoz as the useless shop didn't have any bread rolls last week, and we aer now out of them non left in the freezer and Tescos Tredegar don't sell the ones we want that shop is useless and expensive. Withe the lousy summer the only way for the cost of food is up. Your allways welcome for a lift up there and back when im going cupcake.
Cost nights on the way down side is heating costs soon to start so cleaver the way the utility companies seem to always put the cost up at the start of the on coming winter maximize there profits.
Will you be eating or heating this year?
Have a good week all.

Morning cupcake, kay, fredd one and all hope all is well enjoy the sun.
Seems the forum has become a little stagnant since us Hoggers have chosen to pass bye most of the time shame really as it was interesting to call in several times of day but guess time marches on.
But here's a grump for the day.
It seems that the government is looking at giving bicycles priority road use ( as sail has over motor ships), they pay noting to use the road NO tax NO insurance and NO way of identifying the bad rider, so the motorist that's paying through the noise to use the road are being made second rate road users.
And while we on bikes how many time have I (you) seen these bikers on the road and not using the cycle path? I have many times on the bypass inc a certain medal winner.

Hi cupcake thanks were still around and yes I think some of us like kay and myself might just have the right idea, just look at the small minded comment above ---------------------- there's enough agro in life without cheap comments.
Just had a letter this morning to say the cost of elec and gas is going up next month better not mention the A word and how things are going up there to had I.
Mind these people don't have to read this thread if they don't like whats being posted ----- don't read or don't moan simples.
Your right its not the same on here anymore just like Tredegar and its people are not the same anymore. Is it any wonder when the people, councilors and police don't give a darn about the worsening state of things, and its not all down to a lack of money.

| G.O.M. Don't stop posting your grumps page has had over 800 replies and been read over 46,ooo times!! You stimmulate conversations and people voice thier opinions (sometimes for and sometimes against yours!)But you must be doing something right to have your grump page read so many times. I've been on the sidelines very often and laughed when you've posted something very contriversal and then had some really angry replies but you've taken it all in good part. Keep up the good work (although I sometimes do dissagree )! |

Not been on as much lately but have finally got to the hospital. Got to go for MRI on next week but hopefully, at last, going to get some treatment! Heres hoping. |

Morning all
Good news for you fizz I wish you all the very best.
Stop all this xmas stuff O why O why dose it have to come around every year once every 10 years would be mire than enough even better if it was only once every 100 years. Now to risk upsetting one or two with the A word xmas mince pies were on the shelf this tuesday gone, now how sad is that. Halloween and that faffin firework night, or should that be weeks still yet to come.
Something tells me were going to be in for a loooooooooooooooooooong hard cold winter, as I hear that the gas and elec companies have booked one as they need the cash. There down side to that is that the unions may put pay to some of that with a possible general strike on the cards. Well lets face it the government cant keep taking money out of the pockets of the people, can they?
This weeks sad news is the passing of Prof Sid Watkins who was the F1 doctor 1978----2004 he saved many a drivers life including Rubens Barrichello
