The true story of the most dramatic "Greenfield Startup" failure in British manufacturing history

About The Authors

This look back at the Company Called Tech-Board, and Imperial Board was brought to you by Two blokes called Guy Spaven, and Pierre Topping. Guy was in it from the start, and held hands with Malcolm from the late 1980's. Pierre Topping was given a job in Tech-Board by Guy working in the I.T. department in the early spring of 1995. It must be said that the two blokes had "similar" personalities, and shared a similar out look on life. Guy had just started to implement a piece of software to run Tech-Boards main systems  called R/3, and it wasn't before long before Pierre was also up to his neck in similar stuff.

Guy left Tech-Board in 1997 (?), but came back for a short amount of time after before joining a software company called S.A.P., which produces the R/3 software ..........

Pierre Then took up the IT Managers role, before he  landed a job working as a R/3 Basis consultant for HP (strange that ....). Unfortunately he timed his departure just wrong, and the company went "under" for the first time just three days before he was due to leave.

Guy is still working for S.A.P. and is living near Manchester, and Pierre is currently working for Compaq in Bristol, still on R/3 systems, and still lives in Tredegar. He now spend most of his spare time pursuing his fist and most loved hobby.

We also want to thank Peter Evans, Huw Jones & Deano for Their help on the Tech-Board web page :-)
