Yes, looking back there was so much fun to be had on the "Stay At Home weeks". I remember the large open field in the park that had no trees at that time.It had a large stage set up at the lower edge of the field and, it seems, a constant flow of entertainment. When it rained as it often did, everyone would crowd into the town hall ball room and the show would continue there. Apart from being encouraged by the government to have "stay a home holidays", here really wasn't much alternative with the war on.Not much travel available and with food rationing etc, better to stay home.It did seem that everyone was happy with the situation.
