After researching vehicle security on the web, I have found that most modern cars are fitted with transponder type immobilisers, which are linked to the cars ECU. These immobilisers are to prevent hot-wiring of the ignition, and theft of the car. If you lose your keys, you will have to get the ECU re-programmed by a specialist. Click on this link to see what a transponder chip looks like, and how the system works.

I noticed yesterday whilst out walking my dog near the cemetery at Cefn Golau, two more burned out cars, a Ford KA, and a Peugeot 205. I believe that unless these cars were stolen by the theft of the keys, that they are both insurance-fiddles. The reason being that the steering lock is intact on the 205, and the Ford KA would have been fitted with a chipped-key immobiliser, which are fitted to all 1995 and newer Fords. No wonder insurance costs are rising, when people are burning cars for the insurance money.

Good for you gal,,,, Its a pitty that the local Council and the Police has let Tredegar get into the state it has these last 10 years.Cefn Golau has been going steadly downhill these last few years and the council and police forces are partly to blame. They let the thugs and the bullies get away with it.It takes people like yourself to stand up to these thugs and protect the area you live in, not shut your curtains and ignore it, glad they are not bothering you. Antisocial behaviour should not be ignored ! ! !

I phoned Blaenau Gwent enviromental health department on Friday, spoke to a Mr Ken Bowen, and told him about this burned out car, and it has been removed promptly.
