Made in Tredegar is a Community film studio. We have had funding to make several short heritage films about Tredegar.
Here are some link and information to videos we have made. Please subscribe to our YouTube page! Theres plenty more on there to look at, these are just two examples.
The Circle of Life (The History of No 10 & The Circle) Full length Documentary:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_6M-7oqmwA The Circle, with it's iconic clock, is one of the oldest parts of the valleys town of Tredegar. Quite literally all life has passed through it. Working with the Tredegar History and Archive Group, we tell the story of The Circle from the early 19th Century and the impact it had on present day, which had an impact on the entire U.K.
"How Tredegar improved your health": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtLSO7NN_-o How Tredegar improved your health?" is a quirky and informative look at Tredegar's role in the development of the NHS. The production has been led by a group of teenaged girls and as such is not your ordinary short historical documentary. Their film had to be fun and they wanted to be in it. But the hard work started before the filming the production team needed to do their research. A series of workshops followed investigating the story which culminated in the team hosting a working lunch with local historians and older people who could remember what life was like before the NHS.
Great reminders of the Tredegar of our youth. In "The Kings England" (Monmouthshire). Tred is described as follows- "This well-being is partly due to the wide and pleasant-looking main streets which radiate from the clock tower in the heart of the town" Looking at some of the older pics it seems clear that there was much prosperity since very many children were beautifully dressed, many with straw hats (before my time- that) We older ones will remember that at school there wsa England, Wales and Monmouthshire; Thus Mon was included in this series on English counties !!i
