What idot approved the bend and the bump at the bottom of Queen Street, obviously they don't live at Cefn Gola or Park View,
That hill is dangerous enough to drive up in the winter with all the ice, without These obstacles. This is inviting road traffic accidents.
With the last snow fall, I had a job to drive up Queen street now with the bend and bump it will be impossible to maintain a steady run.
If it is not moved By the winter I Just hope the council can live with the chaos accidents and possible fatalities that it has invited.
All through the u.k. Councils are removing these bumps in the road because they are proving to be more of an hazzard than benificial.

I noticed the speed bump yesterday, it seems a stupid place to put it, and it will probably annoy the nearby residents, with the noise of the traffic going over it. Seems like the work of some idiot in Blaenau Gwent Council highways department . Have you noticed that Cefn Golau cemetry has cattle grids on both the main gates? Not such a good idea as it makes access difficult for prams, pushchairs, and wheelchairs, as the smaller gates don't open wide enough. Recently, some car tyres have been attached to either side of the main gate, don't know why, but they sure look an eyesore.

CHRIST, My little ford escort almost failed to get over them. I'll try and get a photo.

They are, without doubt, the worst thing I've seen for a long time. I know road safty is very important, but this is a joke ...

I phoned Blaenau Gwent highways department today, to complain about the speed bump, and spoke to some arrogant tosser, who said the speed bump was perfectly o.k. and that if the bottom of my car hit the bump, it was because I was speeding. I know of 7 other people who have caught the bottom of their cars on the bump, who were only driving over it slowly. My advice to anyone who has caught the bottom of their car on the bump, is to complain to Blaenau Gwent Council, and also check the underside of the car for any damage.

I agree chris I think as many people as possible should complain about this obvious road hazzard, anyone knows if the council's got a web page to complain. I'll phone anyway as soon as they come back from their hoiliday. Spread the word surely we're not the only ones with commom sense.

Just another way our friendly council is showing us what they do for us which is sweet F.A.

I really hate our council as they do nothing of the people in this area and needs to be kicked out of power. this is just another reason to vote those money suckers out on june the 10th

Seen the photo of the bump in the road at the bottom of Queen Street,
It's very good. But sadly fails to show up all the scrape marks on the
top which only goes to prove that it has been built to high.
Other bumps do not appear to have the scrape marks on the top.
When the council were asked to retarmac the road behind Park View they didn't have enough money and only patched the holes. Since then they have been taken to court at least once that I know of because someone fell and damaged theirself in one of the potholes,
Wouldn't it make more sense to do these jobs properly out of the money, instead of building bumps that are more hazzardous, or building
pointless walls in the middle of roundabouts.
Don't get me wrong bumps outside schools for child safty I aggree with.

We have the HUMP yes and not just the silly dangerous thing on the road. Maybe the authorities should take some of the other local problems seriously.
Kids are walking the streets drinking alcohol from tins and bottles. These end up on the floor with the rest of the rubbish, take away's, snack bags, sweet wrappers and other not so nice things.
And what about the spitting and bad language?
Even worse is the now common practice of urinating up people'swalls and houses, and it has been seen lamp posts just as dogs do.
What is being done about any of it? The Police, The councillors? The answer is NOTHING.
The Police are not even allowed to stop the scramble motor bikes riding on the public highways with no TAX, MOT, INS or even number plates.
So you may ask WHAT THE HELL IS IT ALL COMING TO? One big pot of trouble for the law abiding people, Thats what.
Then council take our money soon enough and keep charging more, and what do we get in return? NOTHING that puts the problems right. The streets get dirtier and terrorismby the minority is taking over.
YES I HAVE MORE THAN JUST THE HUMP.
