Many thanks to Titch for this unique look back at the history of Tredegar. Titch added:
"The 3 pages are only a small part of the notebook and it contains some personal info not associated with the Minstrels or Merrymakers. He was involved with both organisations plus the Tredegar Accordion Band.
It looks as if they had a busy schedule and travelled all over the valleys and Cardiff.
On the photo he is on the extreme left in the back row. His name is Tom Walters, 3 of his Sons were also players. I remember watching the Minstrels when I was a small boy in St James's Hall.
I think the photo was taken in the Workmen's Hall. It would be interesting if any forum members recognise any of the family or friends and neighbours."
David Tagg who later became a member of the Welsh National Opera was a member as was his father.horace Clark of shop row was also a member.I remember seeing them perform in the park during Holiday at Home week and the accordion band .one of the players was Maureen Stock.during Holiday at Home week the park was lit with fairy lights and the was a concert every night
