hi Anniet I would almost be sure she would have remembered them names as she was one of those you have mentioned. Sadly she is no longer with us but worked there for many years.

Looking at the picture of the hall of the new club brings back lots of memories ,but in my memories I thought the stage was a lot bigger than that .what a great ballroom, best in the area ,how it was knocked down I never know.

Funny you should say that shellyw as I said exactly the same to my other half this afternoon. I thought it was bigger and higher but that could be due to too many blue moons I always seemed to partake in every time I when there!!!!

If it were today it would probably have been listed because of it's Art Decor design, such a shame this icon of Tredegar History was demolished.

I love a Black Bush!

Blue moons must have been really popular Kay because I loved them as well. I remember the stage like this and I also remember the big video screen (all very high tech in those days) that Josie had installed. I also remember falling down the stairs on the way home (no damage done) but that's another story :)

Well it had one. It was on the wall next to the stage. I don't think anyone ever watched it though. It played music videos only. I think it was one of the first 'discos' to have one installed and that would have been around 1984 I think.

Hi Shelly, and Kay, that stage was bigger than it looks in this photo. I enjoyed listening and dancing to some great twenty piece dance bands that graced that stage. Ray Macvay, and Cyril Stapleton, were two of them. It takes my breath away, just thinking of those good old days in the New Club, and I don't have much spare breath, these days
