Any thoughts what "K" boots are/were?

This advert from back in 1903 (thanks to Fr John), says the shop North & Son (Golden Boot) was established in 1846

Hi Pierre
I,ve had a look on the web and lot,s of things popped up including
boots all in one type with leather leggings worn by black and tan soldiers the 1920s
only other boots I came accross were jodpers or horse riding boots
maybe I got that one wrong, wouldn,t be the first thing I got wrong

I can remember "K" boots for ladies in the 50's. They came to just above the ankle and had a zip up the front.

Love looking at all the different shops that Tredegar used to have, as did all towns did before the internet and supermarkets age come along.

It occurs to me that it may refer to a trade-name.
As Llanover said you could buy K boots in the 1950s.
That was the trade-name of "K shoes", a Lake District company that made Ladies shoes of rather good quality.
It could well be that they started by making boots/shoes for ordinary folk. That could well be so particularly since they were from Lake District.
NOW I have found it-
The Somervell family made them at Kendal; All their products were stamped "K".
They were a large company and K boots were a high quality boot made for officers.
Those of you who "got some in" will know that "Boots Ammo" had no such pretensions.
Regards, Milkman
