Richard Ashton.
Private (2577) A Coy 3rd Battalion Monmouthshire Regiment.
Killed in action Sunday 30 September 1915, aged 17.
Commemorated at Bard Cottage Cemetery, Belgium.

All these lives lost .Ordinary people made into canon fodder by the foolish conceit of the then ruling elite who directed the battles from the rear and a century on , we are still plagued by pointless wars.
