My Grandfather, Lewis Parry moved to Tredegar in the early part of the twentieth century from Radnorshire. his sons, at the time included William, Sidney and Danzey. has anyone any information on this family?
Danzy is a family name for the Sheen family who came from a farm in Glascwm,Radnorshire. The name of the farm is Wern Danzy.I suspect that your family may have married a Sheen woman, hence the name. When I have time I will look up all the Sheen descendants. Danzy is a corruption of Dauncey,a West Country family who came over with William the Conquer.A branch lived in Brinsop Court in Herefordshire, the 14 century house is still there, and others lived in Glascwm.
I cannot claim credit for most of my family history.A cousin started it many years ago and his son took it over.I would encourage people to start by looking at the census returns on Find my Past or Ancestry.Ibelieve Tredegar library has copies of some of them.
