Earth from space was on the television last night, what brilliant images were captured, it was mesmerizing seeing the earth from that angle and it made you realise how fragile this planet is and how we must look after it. Anyone else see it too?

Maybe you would have preferred Lost In Space GWSW, I loved that programme too and would never have missed an episode.

Torchy the Battery Boy was made in 1958-1959, it was released for T.V. 1960-1961. Mr. Bumbledrop made Torchy because he was lonely, even though he had a French Poodle named Pom Pom. I found Torchy's face a little frightening, so much so that I would not be surprised if Mr. Bumbledrop also made the doll known as CHUCKY

Watched 2nd Earth From Space last night still brilliant! also caught a clip from YouTube about your Torchy programme. It was a scene about a pirate I must say it must have spooked a lot of kids it's a wonder they didn't go to bed and have nightmares. It's Andy Pandy, Wooden Tops, Flower Pot Men, Black Beauty and the best of all Lassie for me I think. Anyone remember Four Feathers Fall?

Can anyone remember the televisions from years ago, if it was playing up you could take the back off the television and inside were lots of whitish long tubes of various sizes. If you replaced some of them you might get your television to work again. They were very fragile and I think they were made of glass. Televisions are so thin in depth these days and much better. The televisions years ago seemed huge as they contained so many of these glass tubes.

The glass tubes you refer to were called valves, each valve had its own function, e.g. picture. If you put the wrong valve in the wrong place you could 'blow' the T.V.
