The history of Tredegar Chess Club has been placed on the Welsh Chess Union website. https://www.welshchessunion.uk/tredegar-chess-club-history/

The club ran until the early 1950s and could number three of the strongest player in Wales amongst its members. They won the South Wales Championship in 1924.

Many thanks for researching the "Chess Fraternity" of Tredegar and their individual achievements over the chess board from times past.
It is a great read for all chess enthusiasts as well as towns people alike.
