We need a name for the team....

Any thoughts ?

Maybe, since all monies are for the Tredegar Town Councils Mayors appeal, we should keep it topical ;-)

Posted on behalf of Malcolm Higgs...

Tredegar Quiz Wizards is up and running for 2008 and two sides have already secured their places in this years final. The competition got under way at Tredegar Rugby Club on Wednesday and attracted quizzers from Tredegar and surrounding area.

With questions asked on all popular subjects, plus picture i/d and a music round it was very close before the two winners were able to claim their final places.

Through to the April 23 final are former winners Team Italia who looked very much like Tredegar Rugby Supporters Club. They topped the scoring on the night with a total of 121. In second place were the Welsh Wizards who cast their spells to finish just two points behind the winners. Unlucky on the first night were The Clarets with 115 finishing in third place. Peoples Voice taking part in the competition for the first time finished on 96. The Young Ones and the other sides all finished in the 90’s .

The competition continues at Bedwellty Park Bowls club on Thursday April 3 with an 8-30 start. All teams are welcome. Why get a group of friends together and come along and enjoy a night of quiz fun and at the same time support a worthy cause with all proceeds donated to the Tredegar Town Mayors Appeal.

The maximum number of players in a team is six but you can play with any number up to six.

Come along and enjoy the fun.

TREDEGAR QUIZ WIZARDS.

Two more teams have secured their places in the final of the Tredegar Quiz Wizards final. Despite a disappointing turn out from local organisations at Bedwellty Park Bowls Club those present enjoyed an evening of Quiz Night fun and at the same time supported the Tredegar Town Mayors Appeal.

The team representing the Bowls Club topped the scoring on the night with well over a hundred points from the questions asked on general knowledge picture identification and music. They have secured their place in the final at Tredegar Rugby Club on Wednesday April 23rd. Joining them from the latest round of questions will be The Clarets, a Tredegar based side who have supported the quiz for many years. They finished just two points behind The side from Tredegar Rugby Club showed they can qualify in the remaining weeks with a score of Ninety closely followed by the side representing Peoples Voice.

The Welsh Wizards, Tredegar Rugby Supporters Club, Bedwellty Park Bowls Club and The Clarets have now qualified for the final.

There are two remaining weeks for sides to qualify for the final. Next week on Thursday April 10th the quiz moves to the lounge in the Conny Club Church Street with an 8-30 start. Why not get a team together from your organisation, pub or club or just a group of friends and come along and enjoy the fun and at the same time support the Town Mayors Appeal.

Further Info from Malcolm on 01495 724914
