And here is the tax band graph that we have been doing since the early 90's showing what a band "E" tax payer will spend if he/she was to live in different towns in Blaenau Gwent.

Again, like every other year, you pay more if tou live in Tredegar!

And here is the Year-on-Year graph that we have been updating since 1991 showing the increase for Council Tax payers on the same band "E" house in Tredegar....

See now thats the problem when the coucil say (and I quote) "Blaenau Gwent has set the lowest Council Tax increase (3.9%) for 6 years". Its a lower percentage, but of a higher number !

Nothing specific, if you live in an area, you can guess the band of house..
Its not done on the individual house....

Easy to find. Let me check the electoral register...

Got it. I would say your a "B" band maybe, with the same percentage increase as the rest of us.....

Should I really be laughing about that?

How do you find me on the electoral register?

Actually, I wasn't laughing at the rise, perhaps you mistook my humor. As in with an obvious difference in CT, your house is of a higher value. Sorry...American humor gone astray.

No Problem Yankee...

The electoral register is on-line, and anybody can look at it.
The Council tax bands are done by street, in a classic 2MPH style (it got the name because the bands were done by a valuer driving past the streets at 2MPH (or so they say..)).

Again, you pay less if you live even somewhere in Cardiff with more services, then in Tredegar!

It does look like Tredegar is THE MOST EXPENSIVE PLACE IN WALES because we pay more for Tredegar Town Council.

How can somewhere that is a deprived area (source: Welsh Assembly), pay the most in Wales.

Its not right.....

Perhaps we are deprived BECAUSE of the tax. It might not be the cause, but it sure doesnt help.

One of the sad thing is that we are not only suffer high council tax but many things like petrol and even food is more expencive. I shop from time to time in Tescos Llanelli and find many of the items cheaper inc petrol.
I keep looking to see what we have that is so special to warant the high cost of tax/cost of living but at this time I am still looking.
