Doosan Infracore has announced that its bucket and quick hitch manufacturing subsidiary Geith will consolidate all European manufacturing operations at the facility in Slane, Ireland.
As a result Geith’s manufacturing facility in Tredegar, Wales, will be closed by the end of the year with the loss of 47 jobs. Doosan blames the decision to close it on the decline of the construction equipment industry in Western Europe and North America.

Parent company Doosan Infracore said it will move production from its site in Tredegar to its factory in Slane, Ireland. Geith makes buckets and attachments for the construction and mining industry. The company blamed a decline in the construction equipment industry in Western Europe and North America for the closure. The firm said it will work to find its Tredegar employees alternative employment until the end of the year.
