Sorry Morgan but I presumed that as Roger Giles was on the photograph it must have been York Terrace. His house was in front of mine, No. 49 Kimberley Tce.
Now names ring a bell with me - Merle Wharton and Dorothy Dowswell.
Thanks again.
Bryan. |

on both photos no9 (grayhams navigation) smoke stack is in center rear so not victoria, maybe kimberley?if you were a real detective a photo could be taken from the exact spot that the photographer stood all those years ago,i did this in a photo of james st, it was a queer feeling looking through the lens from the same spot and seeing the spot where those people were, and all have passed away............odd feeling! and 45 years earlier i was the photographer! |

I am sure photo was taken in Vic. I think the second house along is Merle Watton's but last correspodent will readily corroborate (or not). Not a milk boy for nothing! |

Evening Morgan,
The Millards at No.1 - Was that Billy Millard and his son Brian. If it was I was very friendly with them. Brian was my age and I saw him last at Ried Hall about 4 years ago.
Billy was my drinking pal and we used to play cards together. What a card Player?
Bryan
PS. We must have cocme across each other in our youth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Milkman and Morgan are both correct. We did live in 26 Victoria and it is the second house in on the photos (the only one with a painted front). The photographer must have been standing in the gap which is between no27 and no28 |

je45- Thanks for note confirming that I was right about your house. Where is Merle now? I know she lived in Switzerland and Yorks. Am I right in thinking that she retired in Yorks? |
