Fires in the Tredegar area
Posted by Terry Harding on 4/14/2003 19:27:58
Over the last few weeks of dry weather I can't help noticing the large amount of grass
and other fires which have occurred in the Tredegar area, it's getting like Iraq here,
with plumes of smoke rising into the sky. Last weekend there were numerous grass fires
above Sirhowy, St James way and the forestry above Georgetown, which I can only assume
were started by youths or should we use the correct term arsonists.
These deliberate fires must be putting a strain on the fire brigades resources, costing the taxpayer money and putting lives and property at risk. So why don't the morons who light these fires realise the seriousness of what they are doing and stop. What are your views on this subject? What should the Police, Fire service and local authority do about the problem?
