Work Complete 2nd July 2008

On July 22nd  2008, a Service of Remembrance was held at the now restored Cefn Gola Cholera Cemetery. From start to finish, the project has taken just over one year in total. The fencing is complete, and a plaque is now in place explaining what happened all those years ago in Tredegar.

The Webmaster was up on site during the service and took the video clip below. Mr. Frank Olding from Blaenau Gwent Council was on site and give a few words on the history of the Cholera Cemetery. The below facts and figures were given:-

Other facts were given in a local paper that week, but I personally would treat Franks facts & figures as stated above as the correct and accurate figures.

Also for the history books, please let it be said that none of this work would have occurred without Mr. Bryan Rendell. It was Bryan's determination, love of history and his love for his town of Tredegar has made this all possible and I personally thank him as do the rest of his home town.
